a day on the course

On 4th February 2010, Straightjacket Productions held "A Day on the Course" at Yering Meadows, Croydon Golf Club. The day began with a game of Ambrose golf, then continued into the evening with a fundraising Auction featuring John Wood as MC, Andrew Morello (winner of "The Apprentice") as guest auctioneer, and a stirring welcome by our Founding Patron the cartoonist, philosopher, poet and artist Michael Leunig.

The Auction offered a fabulous selection of items from the sporting, arts and music industries, including a signed guitar by U2, Alice Cooper's leather jacket, football and golfing collectibles, a day on the set of Southern Star and Ten's "Rush", an original Michael Leunig painting and much more. Andrew Morello was a rousing auctioneer, with Samuel Johnson ensuring everyone knew which items were up for grabs. We saw some fierce bidding for prize items.
